1. Preparation and Safety Considerations

Before beginning the installation:

  • Read the Manual: Familiarize yourself with the installation guide to understand the product's features and requirements.
  • Safety First: Ensure the vehicle is turned off, and the keys are removed from the ignition. Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical hazards.
  • Tools Required: Gather necessary tools, including screwdrivers, wire strippers, electrical tape, and mounting hardware.

2. Mounting the Lightbar

  • Bracket Installation: The ILB comes with universal mounting brackets suitable for most vehicles. Attach the brackets to the lightbar using the provided screws.
  • Positioning: Place the lightbar on the desired location, typically behind the windshield near the rearview mirror. Ensure it does not obstruct the driver's view.
  • Securing: Once positioned, secure the brackets to the vehicle's interior using appropriate screws. Be cautious not to damage any existing wiring or components.

3. Wiring the Lightbar

  • Power Connection: Connect the red wire to a 12V power source, preferably through a fused connection to protect against electrical surges.
  • Grounding: Attach the black wire to a solid ground point on the vehicle's chassis to ensure proper operation.
  • Control Wires: The ILB features additional wires for various functions:
    • Purple Wire: Activates Color 1.
    • Green Wire: Activates Color 2.
    • White Wire: Activates the floodlight function.
    • Blue Wire: Used to select flash patterns.
    • Yellow Wire: Syncs multiple lightbars to the same flash pattern.

4. Programming Flash Patterns

To select and program flash patterns:

  • Short Touch (1 second): Cycles forward through available patterns.
  • Medium Touch (1-3 seconds): Activates California Title 13 compliant pattern.
  • Long Touch (3-5 seconds): Resets to default pattern.
  • Extended Touch (5+ seconds): Turns off the lightbar.

5. Final Checks

  • Testing: Reconnect the vehicle's battery and test the lightbar to ensure all functions operate correctly.
  • Adjustment: Make any necessary adjustments to the lightbar's position for optimal visibility and performance.
  • Secure Wiring: Ensure all wires are neatly routed and secured to prevent interference with vehicle operations.
