Strobes N' More Dual & Trio Color X8 LED Lighthead

These lights are indeed SAE class 1 lights, and at $60 for a tri color light manufactured by the “Federal Signal / Whelen of Asia” (911 Signal), which means a well built products too (aluminum housing /polycarbonate custom lenses) and brightness comparable to Ion’s/Mpowers -10%. If using internal flasher, there are some great patterns to choose from…along with dimming feature. **Not the greatest for auxiliary flasher systems like CantrolWC or Core running the lights in steady….but some patterns will work.

My biggest issue - and ONLY reason I never bought more and returned the 2nd set ordered just to make sure it hadn’t been a bad set …is the SAME reason why I won’t use Code3 products on anything requiring BLUE — both of which for some reason use this “greenish-blue” color diode that if being used with any other products like Whelen or FedSig - stick out like sore thumbs (difference of an entire full color deviation…and it’s only emphasized through tints). So either the entire vehicle has got to be all these, and/or Code3 and these - or it’s gonna look bad. **I wanted to get the quad MR24’s they made recently, but after both trio MegaThins & Duo MegaFlex’s also still had the green-blue diodes, it wasn’t worth it.

*Fix the blue and I’d say they would sell 20% more…fix the stdy function for auxiliary flashers and I’d bet they see sales jump by 60% EASY

Great light for the cost and very bright but, there is a significant delay on power up with the light so using this as an auxiliary break light/ turn signal does not work. The old version of this light worked perfectly but something changed from the manufacturer and now there is a delay. My original 4 lights were returned because of this problem and 4 new lights were sent to me with the same delay.

I had high hopes for this light but the light output for the X8 is not up to par for what I have come to expected out of a Strobes 'N' More light heads. I currently have four different snm products installed in my truck and they all blow the competition out of the water. These however, just don't seem to have the punch that the other leds have so unfortunately I think I will be installing a different snm or other light head in their place. I will say these light heads have a place and I really like the flash patterns but this is not a primary warning light head due to the lower output.

I purchased these items 2 months ago and are just getting to installing them now on a friends truck, who is a fire chief of a neighboring department. He wanted a low profile look without the lights being noticed until he turned them on. They fit with his requirements perfectly.I have built a complete custom light bar with these lights and for the situation listed above, they will fit perfectly in the rear bumper footwells protected and hidden away from view until they are activated. At this time I don't have any pictures but will take them after installation and try to post them up.
