Whelen Core

The Whelen CenCom system is an advanced control and integration platform for emergency vehicle lights, sirens, and accessories. It centralizes all functions—warning lights, traffic advisor, siren tones, and scene lighting—into one programmable unit. It connects to vehicle systems via hardwired inputs and CAN bus (in Core models), allowing event-based automation and streamlined control from a single keypad.

CenCom is compatible with most Whelen serial-controlled lightbars, including the Liberty™ II, Freedom™ IV, Legacy™, and WeCanX™ series. These bars integrate directly with the CenCom system for pattern syncing, dimming, traffic direction, and diagnostic feedback. Standard lightbars can also be controlled via relay outputs.

Yes. CenCom Core is fully programmable using Whelen Command™ software, which allows users to:

• Assign functions to each button
• Create custom flash patterns
• Set vehicle event triggers (e.g., door open, vehicle in park)
• Configure I/O, audio, and traffic modes
• Run diagnostics and firmware updates

Programming can be done via USB or Ethernet connection.
